I want to be a clean person.  I have a tidy home, for someone with a toddler, but it never feels truly clean to me.  I try to keep up with cleaning the oven, the stove top (how do those grates get so grimy?), and bathroom (we cloth diaper, so…ew), but I always feel a bit behind.  Pinterest gives me so many ideas of how to stay on top of it, which is fab, but I spend my time pinning and never cleaning.

Imagine my excitement when I was chosen to have my home cleaned for review by CincyClean.  I have been wanting to have a cleaning service come in to my home since my little guy was born, just to get a baseline clean to keep up with.  To prepare, I nervously put all the “extra stuff” away so that they could have room to do their magic.  I worried about what my toddler would do with new people in the house (he’s become scared of people lately) and if he would nap while they were here.

One of the things I was nervous about (pattern? indeed.) was cleaning products.  We try to use the most natural products available, since we have a toddler who eats off of the floor, and we breathe the air in our home.  CincyClean’s website addressed those concerns, which made me and my husband very comfortable.

CincyCleanThe crew of two showed up promptly at 9am, as promised.  Malinda and Tiffany were very nice and energetic, and my toddler took to them immediately.  In fact, I had to remind him more than a few times that they were working and needed their space.  They immediately began to work on my tiny main bathroom.  After an hour of cleaning (was our bathroom really that gross, or are they just that thorough?) the faucet was shiny and all the gook from underneath the knobs was gone, the toilet was sparkling, and my tub was free of soap scum.  I think they even worked out the clog that we’ve been battling for weeks!  And they magically whitened the 60 year-old floor tile grout, which is something I tried to clean, to no avail, with one of those Pinterest ideas.

From there, they moved on to the kitchen.  I was shocked to see how clean my stove top was. They worked out 98 percent of the baked on-grime on the stove top grates.  All of the little nooks in the tiled walls were cleaned. They de-gooked the range hood.  THEY CLEANED MY OVEN AND THE RACKS INSIDE, which totally deserves all caps. My sink was super sparkly, too.

The basement bathroom, which is seldom used, and very basement-y, looks and smells great.  And, they mopped the rest of the first floor house, making the floors shiny, great-smelling, and so very clean.  All this wonderful cleaning, plus, my toddler napped, so I sat in bed, watched my shows, and was pretty much living the SAHM dream.

I want to thank Malinda and Tiffany for all of their hard work.  I now have a clean home, an idea of how to keep up with cleaning, and a number of someone to call if that doesn’t happen!
