Come Out and Play at Coney Island

This post is part of a sponsored partnership with Coney Island Amusement Park, however we would not partner with a business we did not feel brought value and a ton of fun to our readers. The Cincinnati Moms Blog team enjoys playing at Coney Island Amusement Park and loves sharing places to have fun with our kids!

Wow. What a day! We just spent a fabulously fun day at Coney Island Amusement Park and both kids are already asking to go back. It was easy and oh so much enjoyment for all! We packed the car with sunscreen, water, a picnic, and off we went.

First Stop: The Rides!

Kiddos, age 10 and under will have several options to choose from when it comes to the rides. My boys had a blast trying them all out. We waited in NO lines and the kids could ride what they wanted over and over again. The flat, (often shaded) walkways are easy to navigate and accessible for all, making it easy to get from ride to ride. I especially loved watching all the grandparents who had brought their little ones to play.

While watching my oldest, (“Cautious Carl” as I like to refer to him), ride a “spinny” and fairly fast ride for the very first time (and then 27 times after), I kept thinking that Coney Island is such a great park to experience many of those adventurous firsts. First roller coaster, first Scrambler, first dip in the gradual-entry pool, first boat ride… They can all be checked off in one spot!

Next Stop: The Pool!

After riding, we ate our picnic lunch on one of the several tables at the front entrance and then hit the Sunlite Water Adventure. We wanted to make the most of our day, so I had planned on packing our lunch and eating our dinner there. Your Cincy loving crew will be thrilled with the food selections; LaRosa’s, Skyline Chili, and Montgomery Inn BBQ are all there. Of course we sprinkled in a refreshing treat as well.

Final Destination: Lake Como and the Pavilion!

This fun part of the day may have been my personal favorite. I was thrilled to discover the Paddle Boats over on Coney Island’s very own Lake Como. After swimming for a while it was a nice and relaxing treat to float on the river and pedal to our hearts’ content. Then, before heading home, we caught the Live Kids show in the pavilion. Each activity flowed seamlessly into the next. It all felt so effortless and full of good old fashioned fun. I was continually surprised by how simple it was to navigate from one place in the park to another. We ran into families wherever we went. I’m talking BIG families; grandparents, aunts, uncles, and kids of all ages. You know you have found a true local gem, when you consistently see people of all ages thoroughly enjoying a full day of fun!

Proof of a solid day of fun in the sun!

Mom Bonus!

Spending an entire day at Coney Island Amusement Park pretty much guarantees a quiet night (#momwin). There is plenty of summer fun still to be had at Coney Island, so go ahead, come out and play, today!
