My favorite things about Fall

2

With summer coming to a close, Fall is so close I can practically smell it. When I didn’t have kids, I loved fall for completely different reasons; the parties, bonfires, and goofy adult costumes. I never imagined how magical having kids would make everything. Every holiday and season is so much more exciting and meaningful. It’s not about how much fun you can have, it’s about how much fun and happiness you can give and show your children. Now that I have kids, everything has changed.

Fall is an incredible time of year because there is almost always a fun event to take your kids to. There is a constant celebration of pumpkin decorating, hayrides, corn and hay mazes, pumpkin flavored everything (which I believe should be a year ‘round thing), festivals, pumpkin patches, and costumes.

Fall Fact (that I completely made up): It is completely acceptable to wear a costume with your kiddos at any point in time during fall.

I love taking my kids to every pumpkin patch that I can find. Each one has so many fun and unique things to do. Here are a few of our favorites:

Brown’s Farm has big houses to play in and little cars the kiddos can pretend to drive around. They have a few animals on the farm that you could walk around and see as well as goats to pet. And of course, a great big pumpkin patch and hayrides.

Burwinkle Farm has the amazing hay maze for the kiddos to crawl through that has a slide at the end that my son absolutely loves. Last year he did this maze over and over for about 45 minutes (you would think that he would have the maze figured out by then but it still had him thrilled and stumped every time he went through itImage result for silly face emoji ). They also have the corn pit for the kiddos to jump and play around in. Their hayrides are definitely unique because they not only take you to their pumpkin patch but a Sunflower maze as well where they let you pick and take home a sunflower.

Sunrock Farm is amazing because you are able to milk a goat, hold chickens and bunnies, pet multiple other animals in addition to the traditional pumpkin picking and hayrides.

Parky’s Farm is always great because they have a big fire with Smores and hot dogs that you can roast accompanied by live Halloween music. They have an inflatable obstacle course, a big Fun slide, and a Fun House are brought in to make it extra special. They have pony rides, hayrides, and animals (and a few reptiles inside) that you can pet!

There are so many more out there that we are going to check out this year that we haven’t even made it to yet! In addition to Halloween, festivals,  and pumpkins, there are so many reasons why my family and I love Fall. I thought it was fun before, but my kiddos have given me a reason to love it even more.
