Present over Pinterest: Our Goldfish Swim School Birthday Party

0
This post is part of a sponsored relationship with Goldfish Swim School. We have partnered with them because we believe their parties are a great way for families to celebrate.

Birthday celebrations often take various expression within families. For some, it is an all-out extravagance throwing out every streamer, balloon, and confetti to commemorate the special occasion. For others, it may be a simplistic presence of words spoken or closeness of few community. You can see us often celebrating by taking an adventurous family hike and baking a cake together.  Nevertheless, birthdays are about gathering with the one you love and affirming their growing years with you. Our family are all-out “birthday month” type celebrators and our favorite way is to have time together with fun and laughter. We choose the bigger birthday parties on more milestone years and the BIG 5 is definitely one that we wanted to gather a wider range of community to celebrate with us.

This year for my youngest child’s 5th birthday we had the opportunity to experience a Goldfish Swim School birthday party. Planning a party in this culture where Pinterest visuals showcase every Google search for ideas, a mama can be left feeling overwhelmed before she even gets started. The expectations are higher because of comparison and the desire to plan a party that holds creativity, fun, and laughter at times can be straight up stressful.

What happens then when Pinterest is laid down, high expectations are lowered, and creativity is not in competition mode and a parent gets the privilege of “JUST SHOWING UP” to celebrate WITH their child and loved ones.

There is no better gift than being STRESS FREE and here are some ways that Goldfish Swim party gifted me presence with my child:

  • Plates, napkins, decorations, cupcakes, invitations, juice boxes for kids PROVIDED. This saved me a trip to the store and having to pick out a “theme” amidst the endless aisles at Party City and gave me more margin time home with my family prior to party time.

  • Lifeguards on duty during the swim time enabled me to move around the party with greater ease and relaxation. Being a photographer mom, I was able to be present with my kids and have the ability to capture their laughter and smiles because I did not have to be “hosting” all the things.

  • Swimming is one of my kids’ favorite activities and it was a gift to have a party centered around it. It was a generous time spot that allowed enough time to spend with our loved ones granting great movement within it to not feel rushed with too many activities. Goldfish did an incredible job of showing availability to help with whatever was needed and allowed you to trust the party was well thought out and organized.

  • Being able to invite a higher party total allowed my son to not feel as exclusive when it came to who to invite. There is often a tension when it comes to party list out of fear of leaving people out, unintentionally, or not being allowed financially the space to invite a higher number. This party allowed for 24 kid total invite and he was all smiles being able to celebrate with who could make it.

A Goldfish Swim School birthday party is a place of presence and celebration with your loved ones and I would highly suggest it to anyone looking for a fun, stress-free environment.

Hi, my name is Trishia and something that I value about my story is how my heart is outstretched throughout the world and I have many "homes" that fuel my soul. Being born and raised in Alabama, my southern roots remain a deep part of me. Living in New Orleans and then relocating to Cincinnati, post Hurricane Katrina, I learned how being exposed to culture and diversity can build empathy into a person. Married a generous, humble, hard-working man, Brett, from Cincinnati and then later moved to Kenya, Africa where our years spent working overseas has shaped my soul in more ways than I can articulate. We are now back in Cincinnati, investing in building a staffing company, and after 17 years of marriage are raising a 12 year old son, an 11 year old daughter, and a 10 year old son. Jesus is my anchor; I love quality time, sharing heart to hearts, traveling the world remains a passion; witnessing community loving one another well encourages me; photography is a lens I use to invest into the hearts of others at T Ralston Photography {www.framethejourney.com}
