Little PnutsLittle Pnuts is a unique subscription toy company that sends Special Deliveries—eco-friendly, sustainable, natural & organic toys—to arrive on your doorstep especially for your “Little Pnut.”  These shipments feature toys that do not require batteries.  They offer a quarterly shipment that includes 3-5 toys for ages 0-6.  When I was asked to do a review of one of their boxes, I was super-excited.  I’m not 100% “crunchy”, but I’d say I lean toward crunchier parenting styles, so these “unplugged” educational toys seemed like a prefect fit for our family.

Another great thing I noticed about Little Pnuts, is that they partner with Lighthouse Louisiana to help fulfill the deliveries.  “The Lighthouse for the Blind is a not for profit organization dedicated to serving the blind and visually impaired community by providing quality products, services, and opportunities for independence.   In addition to a core, modern manufacturing operation that employs people with visual impairments, we offer a range of work-force development, independent living, and visual rehabilitation services.”

They also ship with carbon neutral shipping with UPS. More info about their social efforts can be found here.

One of our favorite things about the Little Pnuts box was the fun of anticipation in opening it.  My 26 month old was excited all day about getting to open her box after dinner.

The box we requested was for ages 1-3, and when we opened our box, our insert said age 3. Some of the toys we received were more for a 3 year old than a 2 year old, so we will just save them until Audrey is old enough to enjoy them.

In our box:

  • Fraction Fun by Plan Toys ~ Colorful 2-sided wooden game helps develop understanding of geometric fractions and shapes.
  • Puzzle Trio The Day by Djeco ~ Set of 4 piece puzzles to teach toddlers about daily routines.  Helps advance color recognition, spatial relationships and vocabulary.
  • Chronicle Books: Colors by Xavier Deneux ~ Board book for learning colors with embossed cutouts.
  • A Great Day in Preschool book, puzzle, by Haba ~ Cute book with 6 puzzles and interactive wooden characters.

Audrey’s favorite item in the box by far is the Puzzle Trio from Djeco. It features easy puzzle pieces that are all interlocking and can be rearranged however you’d like to use them. The idea is to match items to the center piece picture.  It is a great picture association and memory toy.  Audrey loves it ! She asks to play with “my puzzle” almost every day!

DSC07864We really love our Little Pnuts box.  All of the toys are educational and very well-built. This would make a unique shower or birthday gift that extends over a whole year.  We will enjoy them for years to come!

Cincinnati Moms Blog is thrilled to announce that we are partnering with Little Pnuts to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a December Special Delivery shipment for their “Little Pnut.”  This box would make a wonderful set of Christmas or Hanukkah presents or could simply be a happy surprise for a little one in your life.  For Little Pnuts, teaching and learning begins here, with quality, earth friendly toys, and we want to share that experience with YOU!
