May Family Fun {A Look Towards the Future}

Editor’s Note: At our time of publication for this month’s event post, we are all still surrounded by a cloak of uncertainty. Along with that uncertainty comes some anxiety, certainly, but also if you look for it… hope. In the spirit of hope, our team did some reflection and dream-planning our first family outing for when it’s safe to get back to enjoying this wonderful city of ours.

We would love to hear your Cincinnati dream-plans as well… please share them in the comments! Stay safe, stay well, and don’t forget to have a little fun along the way as well.

Sarah – I want to sign my family up for the Pedal Wagon Mural Tour of downtown Cincinnati. I even pre-bought a gift card to use because they are not only offering a discount, but they are also donating a portion of the proceeds to a local food bank!

Casey – We can’t wait to go to Kings Island! This was going to be our first year with a pass and our kids are finally tall enough for most of the big rides and they just couldn’t wait. We were so grateful to find out that the pass we purchased will also be good for 2021, so if we can’t make it this summer we’ll look forward to next year!

Amy – I cannot wait until my kids can get together with their friends. We are active in the Cincinnati Recreation Commission swim league. I really hope we can have a season.

Kim – I can’t wait to go back to the CVG viewing since it is my go-to for an escape. I also have yet to take my children to Defy in Florence. It opened shortly before the pandemic and we can’t wait to check it out!

Ashley – I can’t wait to go to literally ANY PARK!

Courtney R. – The zoo is a big one for our family! If you don’t have a membership yet, now is the perfect time to buy as they are discounted and it helps contribute to the care of the animals. We always do a summer check-off list that I hope we’re able to get to. (CMC will be updating their Summer Bucket List soon too!)

Emily B. – We are holding out hope about Reds games of course!

Lisa – I can’t wait to go to ALL THE LIBRARIES – Hamilton, Boone, Kenton, Campbell! We are also, looking forward to a Friday evening game at the Florence Ya’lls (formerly FlorenceFreedom) for baseball, beer, and fireworks! I am also excited to stroll around Findlay Market on a Saturday morning, looking at all the beautiful plants, wonderful products, and eating all the delicious food.

Courtney S. – Our family was planning a trip to the Museum Center and Art Museum for the Spring that had to be put on hold. We are excited to reschedule!

Kristin – I am ready for date night. We usually have 1-2 a month, and it’s been dearly missed. Just getting a little dressed up to go to a sit-down restaurant is something we are desperately looking forward to! Also, going to a coffee shop. Coffee at home is just fine, but I miss the bustle and atmosphere of the shop.

Ali – I am excited to get back to the work I love! I can’t wait to see my people again. I miss the hugs and laughter from my families.

Tara – I want to get takeout from Tortillaria Garcia and walk over to Brink to meet up with our friends and neighbors and have a beer along with our Mexican food.

Rachel – We are looking forward to going swimming, especially if Coney Island is still able to open this summer! But, the family back yard pool will be great too!

Jenna – I want to take my son to the zoo for the first time and splurge on the train rides and feed the giraffes.
