Meet Lilly

“I relocated to Cincinnati in 2010 from Chicago to be the love of my life. For a good long while I had trouble calling Cincinnati home, but 5 years, a husband, and 2 kids later, I am happy to be a Cincinnatian! I am a proud, tired, loving, tired, creative, tired, and doting stay at home mom to 2 spunky girls, 15 months apart. Prior to having kids, I was an early childhood teacher. It’s tough being a teacher mom because I have found there is a difference between teaching and parenting, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love finding and creating exciting, engaging, and fun activities to do with my girls and hope I can share some of what we do with other families.”

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?

Sleep until I woke up, on my own, and then spend the day with my friends; eating great food, enjoying some spa pampering, drinking copious amounts of alcohol, and ending the night with a dance party to some old school hip hop.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be and why?

Green. It’s my favorite color. Always has been. Makes me feel peaceful.

What song would you sing at karaoke night?

Painted Black, Rolling Stones

Who would you call for bail money?

My little sister. She would be so understanding and empathetic, wait until I sobered up(assuming that would be the most likely reason for being in jail) and then tear me a new one!

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?

Emotional Roller Coaster Ahead

If you had to eat at one Cincinnati restaurant for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Abigail Street – small plates, a little of everything, and has yet to disappoint me.

What is your favorite place to take the kids in Cincinnati?

During the summer, I like to try different parks. We frequent Ault Park the most because of proximity, but the playground is appropriate for both my girls and the hiking trails are a lot of fun for them.
During colder weather, we go to Blue Manatee for story time often. It’s a small enough space to contain my youngest and keep track of both girls.

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

I feel I was meant to be a mom in every way. It’s the one role in my life I feel most comfortable playing.

What is your least favorite thing about being a mom?

The lack of sleep. Sleep, oh how I miss you!

Welcome Lilly!

I originally hail from the Land of Lincoln (Illinois), but I am happy to have called the Buckeye State my home since 2007! I have two kids (Milo, 5 & Dash, 2) that I just adore about 50% of the time. The other half of the time I’m dodging balls being thrown at my head while cleaning snot off of my shirt for the 3rd time and reminiscing about the days I actually slept. Also, I love cats. And I have mediocre crochet talents.
