A Mom’s Guide to Recreations Outlet

This post is part of a sponsored relationship, however, the opinions and experiences are all my own. We only recommend businesses that we truly believe bring value to our readers and their families.

Sun-sensitive? Wind-resistant? Cold-averse? Allergy-ridden? Hot-bodied? Or maybe you just like a good time? Then Recreations Outlet is for you! This local, family-owned business has been around more than 25 years, and if you’ve been to a Reds game you’ve probably seen the incredible Reds Kid Zone – that’s their equipment!

Shout out to RaRa (my mom) for taking the kids to this gem the first time, but now that we know, it has become one of our favorite local spots to play, especially when the weather is less than desirable. We’re more than a few play passes in at this point and the kids ask at least once a week if we can go. In fact, my five-year-old gives me directions! If you haven’t checked it out, we absolutely recommend it, and if you have, make sure you’re not missing any of the incredible things they have to offer.

9AM – 8PM Monday – Saturday, 12-6PM on Sunday

Year round play, no matter the weather!

This is a weather-proof way to let your kids burn some energy. Whether it’s too hot or too cold or too wet (or if you’re allergies are a wreck!) there are three ways to play! Remember, all play passes are for 2 hours of play, so make the most of your time by arriving 2 hours or more before they close!

Play Pass: If you plan to play any more than once every 6 weeks this pass is a GREAT deal and gives you unlimited access any time they’re open! $99/year for one kiddo ($129 for two kids and then +$20 for each additional kiddo). You can also do a 3 punch or 6 punch pass and save a few dollars that way.

Pay-to-Play: Play for up to 2 hours for $6/child Monday-Friday, $8/child on weekends and holidays.

Charitable Play: Stop by Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 9-11AM and your kids can play for a $2 donation per child, 50% of which goes right to the charity of the month (which you can see HERE).

CMB Moms Love: How clean it is! Kids must wear socks, but shoes are optional.
CMB Mom Tip: If you or your kiddos are crowd-averse, we love the weekday play option too (early or later – they’re open until 8PM).

Some days are simply meant for playing. – Radmacher

Yummy, inexpensive meals and snacks on-site!

Lunch at LuLu's for just $3.50!I’m typically all about packing lunch to save a few bucks, but outside food and drinks aren’t allowed (unless you’re hosting a party). Typically, this would be a bummer for me, but the choices and prices at LuLu’s Café are such that I love not having to pack lunch for my crew. For just $3.50 you get a sandwich, your choice of chips and a drink, plus fruit snacks. That means that our family of four is out of there for less than $15, which is pretty much the best deal around.

CMB Moms Love: The variety of snack and drink choices!
CMB Mom Tip: Popcorn makes a perfect mid-play snack. The staff is awesome and if you ask they’ll charge your card once (there’s a $5 minimum) and you can stagger your snack and lunch 😉.

Sports and play equipment is a ton of fun, but as parents, what we really appreciate is how those things challenge our kiddos to try new things, develop motor skills, encourage problem-solving, and even support peer cooperation. Whether your kiddos are just getting started and looking to explore what interests them or if they would just love the chance to practice, Recreations Outlet has all of the things they sell on site, which makes for a very versatile environment for all ages and interests.

CMB Moms Love: The different types of tools and resources on-site to test and grow your child’s skills. Children learn through their play and this environment is designed to let them take the lead!
CMB Mom Tip: Are you part of a homeschool group? Recreations Outlet can make for some great outside the house lesson plans to get everyone moving!

They do the work. You have the fun!

All play, no work!Recreations Outlet: Host a weekday party (starting at $149 for up to 15 kids) or schedule some weekend fun (starting at $199!) or you can even host an after hours party starting at $299. Parties include up to two hours of play time and you can bring your own food or let LuLu get her hands dirty and provide it for you.

CMB Moms Love: Parties that plan, set up and clean up after themselves. I mean, it doesn’t get much better!

Build your dream backyard!

Make your backyard the place to be!We’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you that Recreations Outlet is the perfect partner for building your dream backyard. When you are there, you can literally feel the difference in the quality of their sets. We purchased one this spring and literally EVERY SINGLE DAY the investment is affirmed. Also, I love that it’s sturdy enough that we can play WITH our kids, which I love (except for when I don’t). And for those days, I have good news – they can help you build adult fun too! Hot tubs, gameroom equipment and spring free trampolines, oh my!

No springs!CMB Moms Love: Any $1000 purchase means you get either a FREE party or an annual play pass. What?! Love that!
CMB Mom Tip: Watch for the best time to purchase! A few times a year they offer delivery and installation for $199 (and I’m telling you right now that is the very best money you will ever spend – ever).
