Fall has arrived, and so has your guide to family-friendly events for October 2022 in Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky! It’s time to spend time celebrating all the activities that come along with the season.

Neltner’s Farm Fall Festival

$7/ticket ages 3+, weekday admission is FREE. Corn maze, pony rides, and barrel train are $3 each.

At Neltner’s Farm, autumn is the time for harvest and celebration, and we invite your family to join ours for the annual pumpkin patch. There’s something for every member of your family: horse-drawn wagon rides, model train display, an expansive corn maze, our pick-your-own pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony rides, homemade food and ice cream, farm shop, seasonal apples, and a barrel train!

Sunflower Festival at Gorman Heritage Farm

Tickets must be purchased in advance.

So much fun for everyone! Live music, hayrides, pumpkins, craft vendors, food trucks, corn maze, sunflower maze, meet the farm animals, Farm Fun Education Station, mule drawn carriage rides, High Grain Beer Garden and Cut Your Own sunflowers ($1 per stem).

Sunflower Festival is rain or shine, with the exception of dangerous weather. We reserve the right to cancel or close early if there is inclement weather.

Oxford Apple Butter Festival

The Hueston Woods Apple Butter Festival provides a vignette of 19th century farm life and features continual creation of apple butter in the pioneer fashion throughout the event. A great family activity conveniently located for Butler & Preble County residents. In addition to apple butter sales, a wide variety of apples, cider, pumpkins and gourds can be purchased on the grounds. Tours are conducted through the Doty homestead and the barn, both of mid 1980’s vintage and exhibiting a broad display of museum artifacts. Each year demonstrations of pioneer crafts are featured along with a theme program.

Proceeds are directed to the historic preservation goals of the Association.

Art Play Hike

Art Play Hike is an outdoor series in partnership with the Cincinnati Parks. Join us this month as we explore Mt Storm, take part in hands-on art making and try out some kid-friendly yoga poses.

Bundle up! These monthly hikes will take place rain or shine. Come explore the great outdoors with your little one. Art Play Hike is a free drop-in program with no registration required.

Families will meet at the Mt Storm Pavillion. The park is located at 700 Lafayette Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45220 in the Clifton neighborhood. Parking is available.

Haunted Mini Golf

A Halloween favorite is returning to Big Bone this season! Haunted Mini Golf will be offered every weekend in October starting on October 1st. Bring your young witches and warlocks for daytime putting or join us after dark for a spooky good time! Lights, sounds, music, and more will bring the mini golf to life…or death!

Appropriate for all ages.Last game starts at 8:30 p.m. Open to the public.

Disney’s Descendants: The Musical

It is present-day, and in the kingdom of Auradon, all of Disney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after, safe from the terrifying villains and troublesome sidekicks they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost. That is until Ben, the benevolent teenage son of Belle and King Adam (The Beast), offers a chance of redemption for the troublemaking offspring of the evilest villains. Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos – the children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Jafar – are welcomed to Auradon Prep to attend school with the children of their parents’ sworn enemies. Now entering a completely foreign world and way of life, the four Villain Kids have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

Hocus Pocus Halloween: A Family Fun Festival

Hocus Pocus Halloween is putting a spell on you and is back for it’s 6th year of free, family fun! Come run “amuck, amuck, amuck” with us in downtown Middletown on Sunday, October 16th as we host THE family fun festival of the season!
Join the Sanderson Sisters as we kick the day off outside on S. Main Street (between Central Ave & 1st Ave) from 2 p.m. to Dusk. Enjoy Hocus Pocus themed fun, food & craft vendors, dance troupes, magic & illusion show, pumpkin carvers, meet Binx the cat, fun music, Howl-o-ween dog costume contest & parade, kids games and activities and more!
Of course, the day wraps up with a free screening of the full length feature film, inside the gorgeous Sorg Opera House! The Hocus Pocus Family Fun Festival is FREE. and made possible by our thanks to the awesome support of the Middletown Community Foundation!
So grab your spell books, be prepared to run “amuck amuck amuck” and get to downtown Middletown on 10/16!

Monster Bash

Monster Mash presented by Do Good Mission

Cheer your favorite knight to victory as he competes for the queen’s honor in the thrilling full-armored joust. The lanes are bustling with storytellers, strolling musicians, singers, dancers and villagers welcoming you to a festive day of living history. Feast like royalty on juicy roasted turkey legs, fresh-baked bread bowl stews, fish ‘n chips, steak-on-a-stake, and a variety of the finest beers and wines. The sprawling landscape is dotted with 12 stages and a unique open-air shopper’s marketplace with more than 130 merchants and demonstrating craftsmen. Visitors of all ages will be amused by the games of skill and human-powered rides. Try your hand at archery and see if you’re a modern-day Robin Hood, or climb the castle tower and rescue the lovely damsel in distress.
