Plan Your Next Escape

This post is presented in partnership with The Escape Game Cincinnati. We are obsessed with their one-of-a-kind, all-inclusive games and can't wait to try them all!

Prison Break Escape GameIf you haven’t tried an escape room yet, our collective team would like to encourage you to do so… soon.

Even if you have tried an escape room, if you haven’t tried escaping with The Escape Game, we still encourage you to check them out because it’s an experience unlike any others in the area.

Escape rooms are designed to help create a teamwork atmosphere and challenge you to solve puzzles, but The Escape Game takes it to a whole new level.

The games they have designed are truly immersive experiences that make you feel less like you are playing a game and more like you were legitimately transported to another world. The puzzles are challenging enough to keep you engaged from start to finish and the game guides are informative and invested in your group’s success, which helps take the pressure off!

Our team of mamas recently got to step away from real life and participate in several of the games offered by The Escape Game. We got to play Gold Rush, Prison Break, and Special Ops: Mystery Market (they also offer a 4th game called The Heist). Following our experience, there was a lot of excited chatter and a resounding endorsement that this activity makes the perfect Moms Night/Day Out activity. Here’s why:

It gets you 100% out of mom mode. (ie: the never-ending need to be responsible for everyone)

It was unanimous that this event was not only fun, but it allowed us to completely step away for a bit. This is a unique experience because you have to pay attention to what is going on around you. There are no cell phones, therefore no check-in texts. And the conversation is focused on the game, so you don’t end up traveling down the path of inevitably chatting about your kids. We love those littles, but we are allowed to just “be” every once in a while too.

“It’s an immersive experience that takes you beyond the realm of motherhood and deep into the mysteries yet to be solved. It’s the perfect night out for moms to build their friendships and camaraderie.” – Leslie

Adults (even Moms) need the chance to be silly and have fun with non-tiny humans every once in a while.

Playing with your kids can be fun, but it can also be exhausting. Playing with fellow adults is stimulating and engaging. We all left wanting to return immediately to try all of the other challenges. There is a lot of laughter that happens in the middle of the puzzle-solving, and just maybe, your game may end up sending you down a slide.

“It felt really fun to troubleshoot and talk things through with women where none of us knew the answer and we were all open-minded to solutions (so many convos, including with our kids, have someone in the expert role). Giving up control for a moment to try something new and outside of my comfort zone was just fun!” – Ashley

Women are incredible!

It was surprising to hear how many of us commented afterward about the joy that came from being able to use our brains. While we feel this experience would also make a great date night or co-ed experience, we loved keeping it exclusive to our team of mamas.

“It is such fun helping out your friends achieve a common goal. I feel like my problem-solving skills have been lost to figuring out where my daughter last put her water cup, so something like this allows me to “exercise” my brain. It also gives me a mental boost because I realize I am smarter than I give myself credit for these days.” – Kristin

So, what are you waiting for? Grab a group of girlfriends and schedule your escape with The Escape Game Cincinnati. (We recommend making an evening of it and grabbing some grub afterward because a little talk about life and littles isn’t horrible.)
