My oldest daughter has always loved cupcakes. Seriously, I think she has a problem. The infatuation started young and has not gone away as she has grown. She loves all things cupcake. She eats them, bakes them wears them, accessorizes with them, paints them, dreams about them and even went dressed as one for Halloween when she was three. One might call her obsessed.

So, every year for her birthday, the discussion regarding the cupcake selection begins months in advance. Typically I make them for her, with the help of some cute little themed cupcake rings from Amazon. However, as our hectic life has ramped up… the idea of making my own cupcakes was overwhelming to me this year.  Still, I planned to do it out of love. She decided she wanted “Olivia the Pig” cupcakes with chocolate cake and red icing. She was unwavering in this decision.

CupcakeshootersThankfully, though around this same time, I met Taren, the owner of Sweet Petit Desserts. Sweet Petit Desserts has since become one of our valued sponsors here at Cincinnati Moms Blog and even treated some of our kiddos (and mamas) to her yummy cake pops and mini cupcakes at a recent CMB playdate. While, Sweet Petit’s menu is not limited to cupcakes, it was my discovery of the cupcake push pops in her display case that sold me on hiring her to make the Olivia treats for Nora’s birthday. I may never go back.

All I did was submit my request: 15 chocolate cake, red icing, cupcake push pops & 1 traditional cupcake with the same flavors (So we would have something to put the candle on).

The morning of Nora’s party, my order was ready and waiting for me and it took only minutes to pick them up, which is huge to a busy mom with children in tow on the way to a birthday party that she is hosting!

What made these even more perfect for me in this particular instance is that they were easily decorated with some Olivia stickers we had around the house to make them the official “Olivia” cupcakes Nora wanted. They are also minimal mess and come with their own serving container, which was crucial for a party with preschoolers at a “paint your own pottery” location.

The bottom line:
Festive and Pretty Presentation – the chocolate and red were really cool together.
Yummy – the cake is super moist and perfectly sweet.  Add in layers of icing with the cake = perfection.
Easy to Decorate – the simple addition of stickers tailored these perfectly to our party.
Contained – These push pops create minimal mess and easy for little hands to eat

The staff and parents at our party continually commented on how cute these cupcake push pops were and the kids thought they were super fun to eat. I highly recommend these specifically, but as I mentioned above, if cupcakes aren’t your thing, you don’t have to stop there.  There are plenty of other delectable treats to choose from.
