We took our newly minted teen and a few of her closest friends to stay the weekend, and they loved every bit of it as much as we did.
Any Holiday Inn we’ve stayed at anywhere in the country has been wonderful. They’re always well-maintained and have exceptional customer service. The Eastgate location in Cincinnati was no exception. When we walked into the lobby to check in, I was blown away at how grand the entrance was. It was a huge open space with high ceilings, tiered floors, and several fountains with a little bridge in the middle of it all. It was the perfect spot to capture a picture of the girls before we dove into all the fun.
The Eastgate area has almost every type of food option you can think of nearby, but the Holiday Inn & Suites Eastgate hotel has McKenna’s restaurant right inside for your convenience. There is a discount to purchase breakfast the night before, and McKenna’s offers a kids eat free deal for children under 12 with a paying adult (up to 2 kids per adult and up to 4 kids per dining party). Make sure to check out their website for more details. One thing our family really loved about this hotel was the fact that it has a mini fridge and microwave right in the room! There is a Kroger right across the street from the hotel and a Meijer and Wal-Mart just a few minutes farther – perfect for when the kids are hungry again (which is always!). My personal favorite as a mom is the Keurig machine in the room! They also have free coffee down in the lobby during the mornings – win-win!!!
Besides the great access to food, Eastgate is right off 275. If you’re not from here, 275 is a big loop all around Greater Cincinnati & NKY that gets you to anywhere you need to be really. You can connect to the other major highways, 71 and 75, and it’s easy to get to great attractions like Coney Island, the Newport Aquarium, the Cincinnati Art Museum, Scene 75, King’s Island, the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, and SO MUCH MORE! The rooms are nice and cozy with an updated look. We love hotels with bathtubs and were excited to see these in our rooms. Holiday Inn & Suites Eastgate had great toiletries with name-brand Dove there to luxuriate with while washing up. If you’re planning on hanging at the hotel with the family for most of your stay, there is something for everyone to do. You’ll find a fitness center, indoor pool, and hot tub that are well-maintained and great for powering up and recharging. Then, you can cozy up in the rooms and watch TV! The girls spent a good chunk of their time down in the pool and then watching TV and chowing down on pizza in the evening (until quiet time at 10:00pm!). 😉
Even though this is a very family-friendly hotel, it’s also pet- and business-friendly! If you bring your fur babies, there are some restrictions and an additional fee, but it’s really nice if you’re traveling from out of town and wanting to bring the four-legged kiddos along. The Holiday Inn & Suites Eastgate is a superb spot for corporate meetings and conferences as well! (We might have to do an in-person Bloom event there some time in the future!)
