Wanderlust of Cincinnati

0
One can see the word “wanderlust” painted on a coffee mug peacefully at home while welcoming a sunrise in the morning, or printed on a shirt while traveling the world in all its adventures. Yet, what happens to a wanderlust spirit when certain circumstances homebound a person and the mountains, the oceans, and the weather ushers a different form in its stead?
Being wanderlust is about the adaptability a soul travels so that be it near or far, adventures are built from the perspective of the traveler.
Born and raised in the country roads and warm sunshine of Alabama, those steps led my journey over my years to live amongst different states and countries and yet within it all, I continue to find my heart wandering the same thoughts of readiness to travel the world.
With a young tribe, the financial abilities to travel often is given a source of discernment and budgeting needed rather than two single individuals cruising the worlds’ open roads. This has led my eyes to open to Cincinnati, where cloudy days seem to outnumber the sunshine and varying landscapes drift hours away to explore the corners of the city with a grateful exploration.
Wanderlust begins with an appreciation of travel within the place you call home just from where you stand.
Travel the Ohio Riverside and invest in life at Smale Park area and learn more about the people who inhabit its beauty. The urban culture will lead you on multiple adventures to discover and you will find a world of uniqueness within its streets.
Travel to the countryside of Lebanon where open fields and landscapes await and historical landmarks keep you standing on teaching ground.
Travel to the Great Parks of Hamilton County and invest in exploring the hikes that lead you on differing points of Cincinnati’s map. Allow it to be a place of exploration and reprieve as you savor the quiet spaces of time spent with your loved ones or solo wandering.
Travel to the locally-owned restaurants and businesses and invest back into the entrepreneurs who are pouring life into your area with passion and with heart.
As you await your boarding pass to continue traveling the world, invest in also traveling within the place you sit as you read this.
I encourage you to venture out and experience the beauty of Cincinnati. There’s so much to explore! Share your favorite spots to explore in the Queen City below.

Hi, my name is Trishia and something that I value about my story is how my heart is outstretched throughout the world and I have many "homes" that fuel my soul. Being born and raised in Alabama, my southern roots remain a deep part of me. Living in New Orleans and then relocating to Cincinnati, post Hurricane Katrina, I learned how being exposed to culture and diversity can build empathy into a person. Married a generous, humble, hard-working man, Brett, from Cincinnati and then later moved to Kenya, Africa where our years spent working overseas has shaped my soul in more ways than I can articulate. We are now back in Cincinnati, investing in building a staffing company, and after 17 years of marriage are raising a 12 year old son, an 11 year old daughter, and a 10 year old son. Jesus is my anchor; I love quality time, sharing heart to hearts, traveling the world remains a passion; witnessing community loving one another well encourages me; photography is a lens I use to invest into the hearts of others at T Ralston Photography {www.framethejourney.com}
