There is no shortage of things to do in the month of May with warmer weather, Mother’s Day, and many events starting to return in-person, your family can have all sorts of fun welcoming the start of summer! Check out the list below for May family-friendly activities around Cincinnati!


Join us for the 17th Annual Fight For Air Climb Cincinnati, at The Great American Ballpark on May 22nd! Take on the challenge of climbing the almost 900 stairs of The Great American Ballpark! It’s going to be a day for Family, Corporate, or First Responder teams to come together, in the name of lung health!

West Side Market

Come out and support local small businesses at the West Side Market! This event is on the West Side of Cincinnati at the Westwood Town Hall and it showcases over 100 local vendors, food trucks and other family fun activities.

Asian Food Fest

May 7th– 8th
Court Street Plaza, Downtown Cincinnati

There is something for everyone at the Asian Food Fest! Experience Asian culture and cuisine from a variety of Asian countries. This event offers food, live entertainment, local craft beer and Asian beer and family fun activities.

Art Prom

May 13th 8:00pm-10:00pm
Contemporary Arts Center, 44 E. 6th Street Cincinnati, Ohio 45202

Do you have a teenager who needs something fun to do? Then sign them up for the Art Prom at the Contemporary Arts Center! Dancing, food, art making, a photo booth and a silent disco is sure to show any teenager a good time! Created and led by teens this free event is for ages 14-19. Check out the link to register and see the Covid-19 protocols they will be following.

Cincinnati Walks for Kids

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital’s biggest community fundraiser is back for the first time in-person since 2019! Sign up and bring the whole family to walk through Cincinnati Children’s backyard starting at Rockdale Academy and looping through the Cincinnati Zoo. You can still participate virtually as well for those who cannot join in person.

Touch A Truck

Head to Summit Park in Blue Ash to Touch A Truck! Your littles will love exploring service vehicles that are used to build and help the city up close!

National Kids to Parks Day

Burnet Woods

Get outdoors in Burnet Woods for National Kids to Parks Day! The Camping and Education Foundation staff of Cincinnati Parks will lead canoeing (all equipment provided) on Burnet Woods Lake. This program is free and no registration required, so bring the family and get in touch with nature!

Taste of Cincinnati

Calling all Cincinnatians! The Memorial Day tradition, Taste of Cincinnati is back! The Taste of Cincinnati will provide all of its usual fun with over 65 restaurants and plenty of family fun and entertainment.

Niederman Family Farm Spring Visits

Fall isn’t the only time to have family fun on the farm! The Neiderman Family Farm is offering spring visits full of fun and learning! You can visit the hay loft, learn about the food rainbow, meet and milk Bessie, play on the jumping pillow and see baby farm animals! Group and individual tour and ticket dates available select dates in May through May 27th. See their website to book your tickets and reserve a time slot. $10.00 a ticket for individual tours, or group rates apply for groups of 15 or larger.

Zoo Babies

All through May at the Cincinnati Zoo

The Cincinnati Zoo will be showing off their new babies all month long! Look for the Zoo Babies signs as you stroll through the zoo and take in all the adorable new faces! See their website for hours and tickets, no tickets needed for members.

Butterflies of the Nile

All through May (until June 19th)

Immerse yourself in the world of butterflies and Ancient Egyptian Gardens at the Butterflies of the Nile show at Krohn Conservatory. It is quite an experience to watch the butterflies flutter around and maybe even land on you! While you are there take in the sights of the abundant flowers and greenery! Tickets may be purchased online or at the front entrance of Krohn Conservatory. Adults: (18 years & up) $10.00, Youth: (5-17 years old) $7.00, and Children (under 4 years old) Free
